JENNIFER WARNES - LEONARD COHEN - JOAN OF ARC

The Songs of Leonard Cohen
From FAMOUS BLUE RAINCOAT

Jennifer Warnes sings Leonard Cohen

We got kicked out of our studio for a few weeks but I wanted Jennifer Warnes to bring her take on Leonard Cohen's song so I took the rest of the show to the beach and let Jennifer bring her amazing talent in her glorious version of Leonard Cohen's music. We really had no live audience as normally so it was just me, John Brunton, Joni Tosoni (our BRILLIANT director) and the rest of the crew to witness this chillingly awesome performance from FAMOUS BLUE RAINCOAT. I am so blessed to have been a part of this from my award-winning series IT'S ONLY ROCK 'N ROLL!

Excelente versión de Joan Baez, cantando "The Partisan".

Tower of song, Leonard Cohen & U2, cuando dos "grandes" se juntan,
sale esta obra maestra.

Micheal Buble, singing I´m your man, Enjoy it!!!!!

Joan Baez  FAMOUS BLUE RAINCOAT ,  written by Leonard Cohen.

In 1967, Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell had a short-lived romantic liaison. In 1966 Joni Mitchell wrote and sang a song called "Winter Lady." In 1967, Leonard Cohen wrote and sang a different song called "Winter Lady."

Quelle coincidence, eh?

To make comparison of the two songs easier, both Mitchell's and Cohen's versions of "Winter Lady" are included in this video, which complements the 1HeckOfAGuy.com post discussion the two works at http://1heckofaguy.com/2011/01/17/winter-lady-by-joni-mitchell-winter-lady-by...

A recording of Joni Mitchell singing "Winter Lady" live at the Second Fret Club in Philadelphia on 3/17/1967 is followed by Leonard Cohen performing "Winter Lady" from his first album, Songs of Leonard Cohen, released in December 1967. (Cohen's "Winter Lady" was also featured in the soundtrack for Robert Altman's McCabe & Mrs. Miller)

The music playing during the introduction is Joni Mitchell's "Rainy Night House," which is based on a visit she and Leonard Cohen made to his parents' home.
